Herbert RUFF foundet RUFF in in a little farmhouse building in the south of munich, where he got popular with new inventions and spezial solutions. He started with repairing and winding of electromotors fort he local farmers and got very soon a name as inventor with many patents.
1956The implemention of winding machines setted new standards in the Industry. Spiral winding machines, for wind wires or tapes around an endless carrier material and Toroidal winding machines built in a modular system with interchangeable winding heads and roller tables are since then the main columns of our business. Even if the actual new, modern machines which can wind on toroidal cores from 1 mm ID upto 3 m OD are far away from the original technical standard.
With the integrated electronic and new winding technologies, the famos RUFF modular system in all machine lines and at least the construction of PLC controlled machines, RUFF advanced to the world marked leader in the winding machine sector. The founding of own branch offices in USA, UK, India, Czech Republic, Italy and China, we followed our customers request for service and local contact.
2000RUFF built a new, 6000 m² hightech factory in the head quarter seat in Grafing near Munich. We invested in new machinery and production systems. 90% of all mechanical parts are made in this factory and therefore we guarantee a high and stabil quality. From 80 employees, 60 are working in the production. Most of them are professional technicians. Our employees in the administration departments are multilingual, to get a psofessional non complicated service for our customers all over the world. The after sales service is guaranteed by a worldwide network of over 40 sales agencies. We have 85 % of all spare parts on stock and can give perfect service to the customers.
The RUFF machine line was expended by the new designer Linear winding machines LWM & FWM, with a large spectrum from small machines for fine wires to heavy floor standing models for big wires and foils.
2005The RUFF shareholders could buy COSMIR, a company in Milano, Italy, which builds machinery fort he transformer industry since more than 30 years. With new technic in lamination insertion and welding machines, pin insertion machines and solder pots, we can fulfill now nearly all requirements of our customers in the transformer industrie.
2006RUFF has 3 lines of winding machines, each from simple models upto hightech models, from bench to floor standing models. Customer specified solutions and our modular machine range, combined with compact design and quality are the results of long knowhow and honored from our customers. With our new fabric, new technologies and expension plans on our agenda, we are ready to step into the next century.
2008Even confronted with price pressure and asian lowcost machine copies, we produce our machines and parts only in Grafing. (RUFF) and Milano (COSMIR), to fulfill the customers requiremets for quality. We just installed new modern software solutions for production control and logistic, a 524 m² large stock department, a R&D department with technicakl drawers and engeneers and a show room with quality control station. These investments allows usa better internal production flew and is honored with new customers and growing turnover.
